Our Welcome Team
The Welcome Committee is working on ways to improve our welcome for visitors and members on Sunday mornings. The coffee bar was built in 2019 and offers a ready supply of coffee (thanks to Warren Wright) with minimal labor and waste. Offering a hot beverage of coffee, tea or hot chocolate says “Welcome” to Sunday attendees.
We would like to expand this welcome by offering a treat. When a treat is present, the congregation tends to tarry just a bit longer, greeting friends and strangers. In addition, the children clearly enjoy a treat and anything we can do to welcome our little ones to worship is to our benefit.
An online signup sheet has been created that will allow you to indicate your participation on a particular Sunday – for the first service (9 a.m.) or the Vine (11 a.m.). Access the online signup sheet here or by clicking the button below.
If you are not comfortable with using an online signup sheet, please contact Tina Johnson to reserve your spot. When considering what to bring, rest assured that your fellow worshipers are not picky. We like homemade and store bought equally!
Your treat should be partitioned into small portions, either naturally, such as donut holes or cookies, or cut into portions by you. In order to assure food safety, we will provide tongs, plates and napkins. We recommend providing about 60 portions for the first service and 30 for the Vine.
Thank you for your willingness to participate in the efforts to enhance Olivet’s welcome!
