OCNS Philosophy and Mission

We believe that children learn best in a play-based environment, nurtured by experienced and caring teachers. The basic parent co-op philosophy is one of shared responsibility, in which parents and teachers work together to provide a positive and high-quality preschool experience.

It is the goal of parents and teachers to foster a love of learning, and feelings of self–confidence through an enriched environment which stimulates curiosity and development of skills. The educational needs of the whole child are facilitated through a developmentally appropriate curriculum which incorporates the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.

Hands-on experiences through sensory stimulation, fine and gross motor skills development, music, dramatic play, arts and crafts, movement, science and language arts promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative growth at the developmental level of each individual child..
